Health care law: How to remain in compliance

When working in the health care industry, it is vital that you adhere to certain ethics and procedures in order to remain compliant.  Not only is this important for the hospital or practice that you work in, it’s also U.S. federal law.

The infographic below, created by the University of Cincinnati, provides some important tips on how to remain in compliance.  Areas covered include verifying the identities of those you are speaking to, verifying email and snail mail addresses before sending out letters, questioning why people are requesting information, and securing sensitive information.  Although those studying for an online MHA degree will likely be aware of these guidelines, anyone who works in the health care industry should ensure to keep up to date.
