Football fans look forward to the UEFA Champions League every year, and this season is no different. With football still the undisputed favourite sport in the world, Europe’s premier football tournament has been well received by fans with at least 46,000 in attendance for every match. He also reached the century mark for goals in Bundesliga faster than any other foreign player and scored an amazing five goals in just nine minutes against VfL Wolfsburg in 2015, the fastest ever recorded in any major European football league. Another Argentine on the list is Paulo Dybala who plays for Juventus and comes close in third, just one goal shy from tying the legend Messi. Commonly referred by football fans as “La Joya” because of his technique and creative style of play, Dybala plays as forward for the Argentina national team and for the Italian Juventus club. After joining the club for a €32 million initial deal, Dybala won the double for both Coppa Italia and Serie A in his three seasons. He was also chosen as one of the players for Argentina in last year’s FIFA World Cup.

Neymar

Team: Pars Saint-Germain

Goals: 5

While rumors have been circling around about Neymar joining Real Madrid, the forward said he is happy with his current club Paris Saint-Germain. The Brazilian superstar also plays for the Brazil national team and is famous for his skill, pace and incredible dribbling making him one of the best players in the world.

Tying Dybala with five goals, Neymar’s career has been filled with milestones since he debuted at only 17 years old. Since then, he has been named South American Footballer of the Year twice and has won the Copa del Rey, La Liga and UEFA Champions League as part of the attacking trio of FC Barcelona that included Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi. Neymar is also the third highest goal scorer for the Brazil national team with 60 goals in 96 matches, trailing only behind Cristiano Ronaldo and the legend Pele.

Edin Dzeko

Team: AS Roma

Goals: 5

Although not as popular as the first four players on this list, Edin Dzeko’s impressive football record will not be left behind. The Bosnian forward player is the captain of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team and plays for AS Roma. Known as the “Bosnian Diamond,” Dzeko has been named Bosnian Footballer of the Year thrice in a row and is the highest Bosnia and Herzegovina goal scorer of all time in 2012 with a hat-trick score against Liechtenstein.
