Calgary homebuilder Truman is launching a new condo residence in the northwest University District community.

Esquire will be 185 single-level residences in two four-storey buildings, ranging in size from 652 square feet to 1,237 square feet, with a starting price point of $291,370.

“Residents of Esquire will not only be neighbours with the great facilities that surround University District, but they’ll also have exclusive access to the on-site amenities that Esquire has to offer such as a gym, pet spa and workshop, to name a few,” said Oliver Trutina, Vice-President of Truman, in a news release.

The University District development is being spearheaded by the West Campus Development Trust which was created by the University of Calgary. The master-planned mixed use community is on 200 acres.

“Truman is well acquainted with University District, as their Maple and Noble projects have already successfully launched in our community,” said James Robertson, President and CEO of West Campus Development Trust. “Esquire embodies the local, connected and convenient urban lifestyle we are creating through mindful and sustainable design.”

The new condo project will include a 24-hour fitness centre, spin studio, multi-purpose movement studio, pet spa with a washing and grooming station, a bike repair room, as well as a workshop for DIY hobbyists and underground parking. Outside, the residence will offer a courtyard, lawn and barbeque area, perfect for lounging or entertaining.

University District will include a nine-block retail district home to grocery stores, restaurants, services, shopping, and numerous transportation and commuting choices. The community’s urban dog park, North Pond and Northwest Commons Park are also close at hand.

The community is located near the University of Calgary, the Alberta Children’s Hospital, Foothills Medical Centre, Tom Baker Cancer Centre, the University C-Train station and Market Mall.
