How has the Calgary market been for the company since opening?
Yuan: We’re encouraged by the customer response we’ve seen so far to our Nordstrom Rack stores in Calgary and across Canada. We are excited to continue learning from our customers in Canada, and are always evolving to best serve their shopping needs.
How is Nordstrom Rack different from a regular Nordstrom store?
Yuan: Nordstrom Rack is the off-price retail division of Nordstrom Inc., offering customers a wide selection of on-trend apparel, accessories and shoes, from the same top brands sold at Nordstrom Canada stores at an everyday savings of up to 70 per cent off.
Convenience is at the forefront of the Nordstrom Rack shopping experience, which is found through our latest store design concepts including merchandising by gender and category to allow customers to quickly find what they’re looking for.
Plus, services like express mobile checkout allow customers to check out quickly and reduce overall wait times.
Are there synergies of having the two stores fairly close to each other in a city like Calgary?
Yuan: Nordstrom Rack is the largest source of new customers to Nordstrom and it serves as a great complement to our Nordstrom full-line stores.
