Re-inventing how Canadians stay in touch.

What are the Famous Mattress Styles?

Mar 8, 2021

Purchasing a new mattress is thrilling, particularly if you haven’t done so in a long time. Within only a few years, research has come a very long way, but new technologies will help you find the right product with your unique sleeping needs.

However, deciding which is better for you purely based on personal experience will be prohibitively expensive. There are several different Mattress Toronto styles on the marketplace, and you deserve it to yourself to know about them so that you can select the one which best suits your needs.

What are the Famous Mattress Styles?

The most famous mattress styles

We’ll go over the common materials used for each of the several mattress styles. These are all the mattresses that most people buy for their beds at home. Rolling out beds, air beds, water beds, and other related products are not included in this report. We’ll look at the following:

  • Innerspring mattress
  • Memory foam mattress
  • Hybrid mattress
  • Latex mattress

The value of the material, the amount of material used, each number of layers used, and the nature of the materials used can differ between companies.

Innerspring mattress

At least three layers are commonly contained within innerspring mattresses. A spring mechanism, the cushioning surface (there could be upwards of one), as well as the outer layer, are all examples of these.

Steel coils are used at the end of the mattress. The innerspring mattress’s support structure is made up of such coils. The number of coils inside an innerspring mattress can vary from 250 to 1000, but much more coils do not always equal more protection.

The wire is used to link the coils together. There are two types of coils: open spring & pocket coil. Pocket coils are common among couples because the pockets allow another individual to move without disturbing the other. Sometimes, pocket systems are often more popular than flexible spring systems.

Memory foam mattress

It’s foam! Numerous memory foam mattresses are made up of several different foam surfaces. They generally have memory foam or even other cushioning including responsive foam supportive sheets.

Since earlier memory foam sunk in reaction to body weight, as seen in the image on the right, several companies may shying away with using the word “memory foam” in the mattresses nowadays.

Although it “sinking” made memory foam excellent for cradling spinal alignment, it also made it difficult to shift out onto the mattress, because body temperature was effectively trapped.

Hybrid mattress

Hybrid mattresses, as you’ll see in the video above, have multiple layers. Natural latex or even other forms (such as memory foams) can be used in the comfort layer, as well as the support device is usually pouch coils.

Several of the popular hybrid mattresses have zoning throughout the support center, which helps you to reach pressure points like your shoulders and hips.

Latex mattress

Latex is a foam manufactured from the resin of rubber trees that can be gathered sustainably. Organic and natural latex is by far the most extremely durable in such a mattress, and it generally outlasts all mattress forms. Latex is a flexible material with a bit of bouncing that is perfect for pressure relief.
