With the FIFA World Cup 2026 now underway, Concord Pacific has become one of the most prominent local supporters of Vancouver’s tournament activities, contributing to fan programming, public gathering spaces, and match-day experiences surrounding the city’s seven World Cup fixtures and more.
Last month, Concord Pacific was named as a member of Vancouver’s Host City Supporter program for the World Cup, announced by the city’s Host Committee. The program was created through an agreement with FIFA and brings together a group of organizations helping deliver tournament-related activities across Vancouver and British Columbia.
For Concord Pacific, the World Cup represents the latest chapter in a site that has hosted some of the region’s largest international events over the past several decades.
“Our final neighbourhood in the Expo Lands has played a key role in hosting globally significant events — from the Molson Indy to the 2010 Olympics — while generating major economic impact for more than three decades,” said Concord Pacific CEO Terry Hui in the Host City Supporter announcement last month. “We are pleased to support the FIFA World Cup 2026, which will mark the culmination of that legacy.” Hui added “Following the event, we intend to transition away from supporting large-scale, long-cycle event bids and toward completing the neighbourhood with housing and a multi-use park that supports community-scale events such as the Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival.”
Concord Pacific has launched programs focused on the ‘last mile’ experience and special opportunities designed to help first-time buyers and families achieve their homeownership goals.
False Creek Match-Day Activities Surrounding BC Place
One of the main elements of Concord Pacific’s involvement is along Vancouver’s designated World Cup spectator route.
On each of Vancouver’s seven match days, Quebec Street and Pacific Boulevard are closed to vehicle traffic between Main Street-Science World Station and BC Place, creating a pedestrian corridor leading fans toward the stadium. A significant portion of the route passes through Concord Pacific property in northeast False Creek.
The route opens four hours before kickoff and includes entertainment and fan-focused programming. Visitors can enjoy live music, a licensed beer garden, interactive activities, and a small soccer pitch before heading toward the stadium. The route is accessible to the public.
Concord Pacific fan attractions include photo and social opportunities centered around a 10-foot Trionda soccer ball installation on the creek at the entry gates, creating another focal point for visitors during the competition. Over the World Cup period, Concord will be giving away over $40,000 in prizing.
Public Viewing Opportunities Beyond the Stadium
The company has also organized free viewing events in Vancouver and Burnaby, giving residents an opportunity to watch tournament matches on 260-inch screens. The viewing areas provide an alternative for supporters without tickets, while still allowing them to be part of the atmosphere.
Concord Pacific is also hosting match-viewing events at its presentation centre at 88 Pacific Boulevard during Vancouver’s World Cup schedule.

Connecting the Tournament With Long-Term Community Building
The World Cup arrives in a location that has been transformed over the decades by Concord Pacific from former Expo lands into a waterfront residential district now known as Concord Pacific Place. More than half of this waterfront community is already public space including the largest private delivery of park space in Vancouver history.
Concord Pacific has tied its tournament programming to its Communities for Generations initiative, which focuses on developing neighbourhoods that incorporate public parks, open gathering areas, recreational facilities, daycares and playgrounds; making sustainable and walkable communities for its residents and the cities they develop in.
As Vancouver welcomes supporters from around the world, Concord Pacific’s role reaches beyond sponsorship signage. Through fan events, public viewing opportunities, and participation in the city’s match-day operations, the company has become a key contributor to how residents and visitors experience FIFA World Cup 2026 in Vancouver.
