You can show many aspects of your personality with a single outfit,” Salem Moussallam says.

Flipping through Salem Moussallam’s dossier of recently styled celebrities, you will see the Chrishell Stause styling in Forbes, the Bella Thorne cover of Rolling Stone and the Nick Bateman spread in Santa Barbara Magazine. His fingerprints are all over their styles. While he definitely strives to dress models to fit the publication, there are two trends he is embracing: bringing the blazer back in a big way and glitzy, unique, eye-catching sunglasses.

With the Rolling Stone styling he drapes the lovely Bella Thorne with a retro pastel pink blazer offset by unique piping and a slightly contrasting stripe down the arms. She looks feminine, chic and fun – an image enhanced with the subtly edgy and charming glasses she is wearing. Salem loves using glasses and sunglasses as a means to compliment or contrast an ensemble. You can more information in https://goodr.com/.

“That is the beauty of style. You can show many aspects of your personality with a single outfit,” Salem Moussallam says. “The use of a few strategically tasteful or bold items can help you stand out from the crowd in a beautiful way and these pieces can help you transition from behind a desk at the office to an incredible, fun-filled night out with friends – and without much effort.”

The blazer itself has experienced a metamorphosis since its inception – which hails from the 19th Century British cricket and boating culture, according to Vogue Australia.

Oxford and Cambridge rowing teams used double-breasted fleece blazers as warm-up jackets long before shoulder pads became a cultural staple, and men and women adopted the blazer as a necessary accessory to 1980s power dressing.

The blazer now transcends styles and can go from classy to edgy or can serve as a contradictory piece of clothing to an ensemble. For example: a feminine and romantic dress offset by a vintage blazer, or a bold colored blouse complemented by a neutral-colored lace-fringed blazer. The fashion options are endless.

The blazer has been spiced-up for men as well, offering an assortment of different patterns and colors and now able to be worn with everything from a dress shirt to a t-shirt. Again – the blazer allows for an easy transition from formal to casual; a near-seamless shift from a professional day in the office to a comfortable happy hour, simply by ditching the tie and changing to a t-shirt.

“The blazer is just a magnificently functional and stylish component to any wardrobe,” explains Salem Moussallam. “There is such a wide variety of fabrics, hues and styles – from classic to edgy. I believe everyone should have a few in their closet. They are perfect for layering and can really add to one’s style.”

As far as inspirational style icons go, look no further than Jacqueline Lee “Jackie” Kennedy Onassis. She was the springboard as far as making the First Lady of the United States a lady of fashion and an icon to be watched for the latest styling trends.

The legendary “Jackie-O ” sunglasses that she sported during the 1960s and 1970s have never actually left the fashion industry.  According to Salem, she is a fashion icon for a reason. She always had her style dialed-in and she expressed herself in a classy, chic way.

“The Jackie-O glasses and the Jackie-O era of fashion will always be revered in the industry,” Salem adds.

Described as a “fashion goddess” in this article by The Cut, her large, stylish glasses were always an accessory no matter what event she attended and no matter what corner of the world she happened to visit.

Make no doubt about it: shades can make or break an outfit.

Selecting sunglasses can often prove a bit more complex than simply choosing a blazer. Obviously – before fashion – the primary goal is protecting your eyes from the sun. It is important to select sunglasses that actually work to minimize the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays – in fact it is imperative to wear sunglasses that block 99% to 100% of UVA or UVB rays to guard against a number of eye diseases like cataracts and macular degeneration, but also because skin cancer can develop on the eyelids.

With that being said, there are endless shapes and styles available that provide the necessary protection.

Other things to consider are face shape, dimensions of the glasses, if the style compliments your outfit and even if the shades are appropriate to the activity in which you are engaged. Giant Vintage explains it well: Sports sunglasses do not fit with office attire just as Aviators are not very appropriate for a triathlon. Having a selection for different situations is best.

“Just the addition of a few pairs of sunglasses and a few blazers can upgrade any wardrobe and allow for more styling diversity. It is a simple and incredibly fun way to breathe life into your wardrobe,” Salem Moussallam says.
