Planning a trip is a challenging but inspiring undertaking. When you are going on vacation to another country, it is always better to consider unforeseen situations.

The first issue to solve is to make your journey comfortable. A business class air trip is usually the fastest and the most convenient way to get to your destination.

5 Things You Probably Won't Need on Your Trip but Should Take Them Anyway

Things to Surely Take on a Trip

There is a standard list of stuff that should be placed in your bag. It is worth to take a backpack with the things you may need and have it as your hand luggage:

  • passport, driver’s license, or other ID;
  • cash, bank card, and some change;
  • phone, which gives access to mobile communication, Internet, cards, translator, payment systems, and so on;
  • power bank in case the smartphone battery suddenly fails;
  • toiletry travel kit.

Of course, an ID and money are essentials, while you can buy all the rest if needed.

Five Things You May Probably Need

Unlike the list of required items, some things seem unnecessary to take with you. However, make sure you can avoid unnecessary stress since you never know when something will turn out to be helpful.

  1. Flip flops. Of course, many hotels provide disposable slippers, but it depends on the conditions in which you are going to live. This footwear is useful if you need to put on shoes quickly somewhere, or you do not want to wash barefoot in someone else’s shower, or it may be too hot for you to walk around a city in your favorite sneakers.
  2. Hairdryer. Perhaps, someone will consider this item superfluous because many hotels and apartments provide a hairdryer. Despite this, there are situations when an accommodation does not have this appliance or it may break down. A hairdryer is a must-have device in cold weather conditions because you don’t want to go out with wet hair and catch a cold, but you wouldn’t enjoy waiting for your hair to dry naturally for too long either.
  3. Iron. It’s another very controversial device because many do not want to take up space and weight in their luggage. But if a hairdryer is a mandatory attribute of all hotels, there can be problems with an iron. There are many options for travel irons and steamers; they weigh up to 1 kg and do not take up much space.
  4. Umbrella or raincoat. It is very unpleasant when it rains all day on a long-awaited vacation. Such weather does not allow going outside to those who are not prepared. With some kind of protection from getting wet, you will not waste time sitting in your room. At least, you will be able to take a walk to a store or the nearest cafe.
  5. Monopod for selfies. You can take general photos with everyone accommodated. Take a picture of yourself to capture a beautiful view and remember it forever.

We are accustomed to comfy conditions and amenities, and the modern world has adapted to this. Therefore, do not be afraid to take a couple of extra things because they can help out at the most unexpected moment.
